Edward Schmidt began his insurance career over 35 years ago as a claim adjuster with a national insurance carrier. Ed’s career path progressed into marketing, sales, and management positions with national and international insurance carriers.
In 2009, Ed formed ESI Associates. Our agency is focused on addressing the risks of our clients and providing solutions for these risks. For 35+ years, his career has followed a course that allowed Ed to gain valuable experience in a number of areas of insurance. Ed utilizes this knowledge to provide comprehensive and competitive insurance products to his clients using our relationships with our many insurance company partners.
Ed is also a volunteer firefighter with the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company, and a Hazardous Materials Technician with the Allegheny County Department of Emergency Management. This has allowed Ed to also practice in the area of public entity and fire department insurance, and risk management. Ed’s knowledge of public entity and firefighters insurance was utilized when he was sought out to assist two insurance carriers in the creation of their public entity and firefighter’s insurance programs. Ed has also published several articles in the W.O. Schinnerer “Public Domain” newsletter, and “Water Works” trade publications, regarding insurance and risk management. In October of 2011, Ed was elected as President of The Insurance Club of Pittsburgh.
Ed, along with his staff, provides the highest level of customer service to their customers. ESI’s mission is to offer their clients comprehensive coverage and programs while seeking solutions to reduce their risks and exposures and ultimately, reduce their cost of insurance.
